Director of SCS Theatre Department
Michaela Strausbaugh currently serves as the theatre teacher for Shelbyville Central Schools. She graduated from Ball State University in May with a degree in Theatre Education, and has since relocated from her hometown of Columbus, OH to the great state of Indiana! Here in Shelbyville, she has the pleasure of running the after school drama programs at the high school and the middle school, as well as teaching theatre and technical theatre in both schools.

SCS Assistant Director
Erin Kaczmarek is a 7th grade Social Studies teacher at SMS and is so excited to be returning to her theatrical roots as an assistant director! She graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in Social Studies Education with a focus in history, government, and sociology. Erin was an active member of her drama club and show choir as a student at Pendleton Heights, and is thrilled to be invited as the assistant director for both the SHS and SMS productions.

SHS Band/Pit Orchestra Director
Allison Anderson The 2022-2023 school year marks Mrs. Anderson's second year as the Director of Bands at SHS. Prior to this, Mrs. Anderson served as the Assistant Director of Bands at Shelbyville High School and Middle School for 4 years, Band and Choir Director at Hauser Jr. Sr. High School in Hope, IN for 2 years, and the Band, Choir, and Orchestra Director at Harshman Magnet Middle School in Indianapolis for 4 years.
Mrs. Anderson earned her BME with an emphasis in oboe from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana. She has worked with many band departments across the state as a mentor. Some of these ensembles include high school marching bands, jazz bands, beginning bands, and soloists and small ensembles. Mrs. Anderson has started countless beginning oboists, many who have been accepted and study at surrounding colleges and conservatories. Mrs. Anderson has been selected as a Sunshine Society Ideal Woman and has mentored many young women around Central Indiana.

SHS Choral Director
Joel Kenemore has served as the Director of Choral Music at Shelbyville High School since
August of 2000 and currently directs the award-winning show choir, Synergy, the Varsity
Singers, the Choraliers, the Choral Chamber Ensemble, and the Tenor-Bass Ensemble. He is a
graduate of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and is an active educator, clinician,
adjudicator, music director and performer. Mr. Kenemore has been a featured presenter at the
Indiana Music Education Association Professional Development Conference and has served on
the faculty of the Indiana University Summer Music Clinic. He has also served as a member of
the Special Studies Faculty at the Chautauqua Institution in New York where he has taught
classes on the history of musical theater. Mr. Kenemore also serves as the Music Director at First
Christian Church in Shelbyville, Indiana.
Over the past two decades, Mr. Kenemore has worked closely with the SHS Theatre Department by either serving as the director, co-director and/or the vocal music director for many shows, including Damn Yankees, My Fair Lady, Nunsense, Little Women, Flowers for Algernon, 12 Angry Jurors, The Music Man, Beauty and the Beast, AIDA, In the Heights and more. He thoroughly enjoys working with the casts of all the SHS theatrical productions, and he loves seeing the students’ hard work and commitment to creating a rewarding theatrical experience come to fruition.

Graham Montgomery is the Assistant Director of Bands at Shelbyville High School. In the spring of 2021, Mr. Montgomery completed his student teaching at Shelbyville High School and is very excited to continue working in the community. Mr. Montgomery earned his Bachelors of Music Education with a focus in trumpet from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in the spring of 2021.

In the spring of 2021, Mr. Montgomery completed his student teaching at Shelbyville High School and is very excited to continue working in the community. SCS Set Design and Technical Director
Floyd Neeb currently serves as the technical director at both Shelbyville High School and Middle School. Prior to his “retirement,” Floyd worked for the Indiana BMV as an artist/cartographer. He has worked on many shows for SHS for over 30 years. Some of his favorite sets he has designed are for The Wizard of Oz complete with a giant wizard head that had a moving mouth and lasers for eyes, Carousel with a full-sized carousel with four horses that moved around, Little Shop of Horrors complete with a large talking, man-eating plant, and the New York cityscape in In the Heights. Floyd is a crucial part of the production team and maintains the technical equipment and systems in Breck Auditorium.
