What is Drama Club?
Drama Club is an after school activity offered at both Shelbyville Middle and High School and is led by Miss Strausbaugh and Miss Kaczmarek. Drama Club always meets on Wednesdays once a month, meetings will usually start at 3:15 and will end at 4:30pm. Middle School meetings are held in the SMS Cafetorium and High School meetings will be held either in Miss S's room (Rm 222) or in Breck Auditorium. Be sure to join our Google Classroom to know what days our meetings are and where to go.
What do you do during meetings?
Depends on the meeting! You will be provided with a snack during every meeting, but what we do changes. Some months we play theatre games, in October we usually decorate theatre masks to celebrate Halloween, and we've decorated theatre-inspired Valentines in February! In Drama Club you'll learn about the different aspects of theatre (performing, costume design, set design, etc) and you have the opportunity to make some incredible friends!
Do I have to be in a Drama or Theatre class to join?
Nope! Any students at SMS or SHS are welcome to join Drama Club.
Can I join part way through the year?
Yes you can! If you missed our first meeting, recently moved into Shelbyville schools, or just feel like trying something new, you are more than welcome to join us at any point in the year! We love seeing new faces at our Drama Club meetings!
Does it cost anything to join Drama Club?
Nope! Drama Club is free to join at both the Middle and High schools.
